Persons who reside, own property, work, or attend school in Ohio are eligible, with proper identification, to register for a Wayne County Public Library card.
To receive a full access library card with borrowing privileges, the patron must present an acceptable form of ID and verification of current address. A card with limited borrowing privileges may be issued without verification of current address (see Temporary Card Policy.)
Acceptable forms of proof include:
Driver’s license
State or Federal ID
Passport
Work ID
Student ID
Credit Card with photo
US Military ID
• Personal checkbook, in lieu of a photo ID, for those in the community with a sincerely held religious belief prohibiting the taking of a photograph.
If address verification is needed, the following may be used:
Personal checkbook
Current year car registration
U.S. mail postmarked within the last 14 days
Current month’s utility bill
Lease or bank documents dated within the past 3 months
For eCards:
• Valid email address
Temporary residents of the Wayne County Public Library district are eligible to obtain a full access library card with an expiration date based on length of stay.
The following information is required:
Valid identification such as a driver’s license, student ID (see list above)
Written proof of temporary Ohio address: lease, current college identification, etc.
