As we welcome the winter season, we’re reminded of the warmth and connection that comes from shared stories and gathering spaces!” BRANCH KEY TABLE OF CONTENTS WOOSTER MAIN CRESTON RITTMAN SHREVE WEST SALEM DOYLESTOWN DALTON “ I am thrilled to highlight two new additions to our Main Library in Wooster that embody these values and deepen our mission to enrich lives and strengthen community bonds. The Joyful Cafe is a shining example of a dream brought to life with purpose and compassion. Founded by two mothers of young adults with significant disabilities, the cafe began with a simple but profound question: “What will our children do when they age out of the special education system?” That question became a journey toward meaningful employment and community for individuals with disabilities, and, in 2018, the nonprofit Joyful Enterprises was born. Today, Joyful Cafe has two successful locations, and we are honored to host their third here at the library. The Joyful Cafe is more than just a place to enjoy good coffee—it’s a place where purpose and joy infuse every cup, benefiting both employees and patrons. Another exciting addition is the Creation Station, our new makerspace, made possible by the generosity of entrepreneur and philanthropist Barry Romich. His foundation has long supported educational projects, particularly those fostering hands-on exploration in science, technology, arts, and math. Thanks to Mr. Romich’s commitment, the Creation Station will be a vibrant, interactive space where creativity and innovation flourish, providing opportunities for learning, discovery, and expression to all in our community. Since our founding in 1897, the Wayne County Public Library has remained a cornerstone of the community, committed to providing a welcoming environment for lifelong learning. Today, these new spaces—the Joyful Cafe and the Creation Station—honor that legacy by expanding our services in meaningful ways. Each embodies our dedication to empowering individuals and fostering connections, ensuring that the library remains a place for everyone to discover, explore, and connect. We look forward to sharing these spaces with you. May this winter bring joy, warmth, and inspiration to you and your loved ones.
