CHECK it OUT! @Wayne County Public Library NEWSLETTER 2024 SEPTEMBER – NOVEMBER

Welcome the new school year by celebrating National Library Card Sign-Up Month: The Ultimate School Supply!” BRANCH KEY TABLE OF CONTENTS WOOSTER MAIN CRESTON RITTMAN SHREVE WEST SALEM DOYLESTOWN DALTON “ As students begin to return to school, there’s one essential school supply that stands out above the rest: a library card. September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, and there’s no better time to discover—or rediscover—the incredible resources available with this small but mighty card. A library card unlocks a world of knowledge and opportunity. With it, students can access a vast collection of books, e-books, audiobooks, and online resources that support every subject and interest. From history and science to literature and art, the library has materials that cater to every student’s needs. But the benefits of a library card extend far beyond just books. The library gives you free access to online databases, language learning tools, Wi-Fi and computer access, and programs—both educational and recreational. These resources provide invaluable support for homework, research projects, and test preparation. Additionally, library programs and events (listed in detail, on the following pages) create opportunities for students, families, and friends, to engage with their community, develop new skills, and explore interests. In a time when back-to-school shopping lists are long and often expensive, a library card stands out as a cost-effective tool for a student’s success. It’s a passport to a lifetime of learning, available for free to everyone in the community. So, as we look towards the new school year, remember that the best school supply isn’t found in a store. It’s waiting for you at the library. If you don’t have a library card yet, visit your local library branch today and sign up. Your journey to endless learning and discovery starts here.
