Job Responsibilities:  Under general supervision, this person drives, maintains and cleans the interior and exterior of the bookmobile; assists bookmobile patrons; assists in managing bookmobile inventory; and performs various other bookmobile related office duties. 

Qualifications:  High school diploma or equivalent.  A valid Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.  Experience with operating a large commercial vehicle and a Class B Commercial Driver’s License. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:  Part-time. 20 hours per week, including evenings, plus an occasional Saturday.   

Knowledge of: Basic commercial vehicle maintenance, traffic laws and regulations. Will be expected to develop knowledge of basic library policies and procedures, as well as library specific technology and computer software

Skills and Abilities:  Safely operate a 30-35 ft. bookmobile in all weather conditions. Perform basic maintenance, and regular safety inspections. Present a positive, professional image to the public. Interact and respond appropriately to patrons and staff.  Assist in managing and organizing bookmobile materials. Communicate effectively in written and oral form. Maintain confidentiality.

Illustrative Duties:   Follow an assigned route of bookmobile stops. Assist patrons in the location and checking out of materials. Perform various office-based duties including preparing the bookmobile for the next day’s run.  Perform other duties as assigned. 

Pay Range:   Starts at $10.75 per hour.
