Book Endowment Fund
Honor and thank family members, friends, or colleagues with a monetary donation to the Wayne County Public Library’s Book Endowment Program.
Your donation to the endowment will be used to purchase books for the community. Only the interest earned each year will be used to buy books, assuring that your gift will benefit the community in perpetuity.
The suggested minimum donation is $25. This donation is tax deductible. The library does not normally accept book donations as memorials.
The library will add an appropriate book to its collection that will include a commemorative bookplate. This bookplate will indicate the name of the person being honored. You may wish to suggest a subject area for the book. The library will select a title intended to be read by many patrons of the library.
Donations to the endowment may also be used to honor individuals for special events or achievements such as: graduations, birthdays, serving as a club president, or a special anniversary. This is a wonderful way for you, your club or other family members to honor and thank those people who have done so much to improve our lives and better the community.
The library will send a letter of thanks to the donor acknowledging the monetary gift and will provide a receipt for tax purposes, if needed. You will also receive a letter notifying you of the book title, when it is placed in the library’s collection. If you wish, additional letters will be sent to the individual or family notifying them of your thoughtful gesture of recognition.
