Created for the beginner, this class is an introduction to spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel 2010. This session provides a basic overview and common uses for spreadsheets. Learn basic Excel functions and build a simple budget spreadsheet. Prerequisite Word Essentials or some experience with MS Excel.

PowerPoint 2010 Essentials

Are you asked to give a presentation? This class is a basic introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint 2010. Learn how to create a simple presentation and know how to print handouts. Prerequisite: Word Essentials or some experience using MS Publisher, or PowerPoint.

Mouse & Keyboard Skills - Using the Palm Beach Library mouse interactive multimedia to learn mouse skills and Peter’s Online Typing Class as an interactive way to gain typing skills. Time left over is left by going over the different parts of the computer.

Computer Basics – Discovering the computer for the first time. Repeats the essentials parts of the mouse & keyboard skills and goes further into explaining the computer. An exercise is included in this class.

Operating System Introduction – Learn the basics to the XP operating system.  [Vista and Windows 7 will be mentioned, but not the focus of these classes.]

Internet Getting Connected – Learn the basics to the Internet and find out about the different typing of connections available. 

Internet Searching  Finding it difficult to navigate through the vast sea of information online? Learn how to find what you’re looking for and make sure it’s from a trusted source.CLEVNET Catalog – Registering and using the online catalog to locate material.

 

Social Networking: Facebook & Google+ –  An introduction to social networking sites such as Facebook and Google+ and what you need to be aware of in setting privacy settings.

Email – Are you just beginning to communicate electronically? Learn to create, send, organize and attach files to messages. Prerequisite: Computer Essentials or experience using a mouse. Don’t have a Gmail account yet? Go to www.gmail.com to create a new account BEFORE attending the class.

Word 2010 – Learn how to create a document and save. First class is an introduction to Word and then deals primarily with text. The Second class focuses more on the graphics.

Excel 2010 – Learn how to create your own home budget.

PowerPoint 2010 – Learn how to create a presentation using PowerPoint.

eReader – Using Overdrive and your eReader device.

Resume Lab - Come prepared with your basic resume information and learn how to create your own resume using templates. You will need your own USB flash drive to save your resume if you wish to save your work.
