Please be advised that requests will be answered in the order they are received. Prices are subject to change.
For most requests, please use our online request form.
Obituary requests
$1.00 per obituary (includes postage)
Non-obituary requests (to be mailed)
$1.00 minimum fee + $0.25 per page + postage
Non-obituary requests (to be emailed)
$1.00 minimum fee + $0.25 per scan
Combination requests
$1.00 minimum fee + $0.25 per non-obituary copy + postage + $1.00 per obituary
Payment
Researchers may choose to prepay for research or remit payment when the information is received. We accept cash, checks, and money orders. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the Wayne County Public Library and sent to:

Email requests
When sending requests by email, please include your complete mailing address. We can scan and send up to 5 images through email. For more than 5 documents, staff may choose to mail the information.
Phone requests
We accept simple requests by phone. Simple requests include but are not limited to lookups in the following Wayne Co, OH books:
- Marriage abstracts 1812-1898
- Birth abstracts 1867-1908
- Probate Court index 1812-1934
- 1850 and 1880 census abstracts
- City and county directories
For more detailed requests, please correspond with our department by mail or email.
Visitors
When researchers visit our department, all black and white copies are $0.10 per page. Color copies are $0.30 per page. When saving images to a thumb drive, there is no cost for copies. Thumb drives are available for sale in the department or at the Circulation desk. Each thumb drive is $10 plus tax.
Donations
Our department accepts donations.
At times, our volume of requests is quite heavy. We do answer queries in the order they are received and by the level of difficulty. Please be patient. If you have not heard from us within one month, please feel free to check on our progress. Thank you for your understanding.
