Wayne County Public Library has made many changes since the State of Ohio, in the summer of 2009, announced major reductions in state aid to public libraries.

Hours of service were reduced, book purchases were reduced some employees were laid off and hours were reduced. Due to a slight improvement in the economy in the last six months and internal reorganization of the library, some new positions are being advertised. Staff will be hired and trained and new, improved hours of service will take effect on June 1, 2010 – the same day that the Summer Reading Club (SRC) begins. Enjoy the summer and the new hours. The summer will change into fall but the new hours will continue past the summer so that there will be additional hours in the evenings (for students and working adults) and additional hours on Saturdays.
