Federal Stimulus Funds

Wayne County Public Library is investigating the possibility of using federal stimulus funds for the improvement of one or more branch libraries. The library is seeking an architect to work on this project. No architect fees will be paid unless stimulus funds are received. More details will be provided in the following weeks.

Friends Coffee

The coffee has been donated by Muddy Waters Cafe in Downtown Wooster, with all of the proceeds going to the Friends of the library.

New Board Member

The library welcomes our newest Board member, John Galehouse!

John is the Vice President of Galehouse Construction in Doylestown and is a welcomed addition to our Board of Trustees. In the past he has served on the libraries architect selection committee when we were building the main library in 2007.

Preschool children of all ages are welcome in our family story time filled with stories, rhymes and songs. Accompanying adults are invited to join in the fun.

Toddler Story Time -Dalton Branch

When: Monday, February 06, 2012 - 10:30 AM
Where: Dalton Branch at Dalton Meeting Room

Toddler story times are for children 18 months 3 years old. The toddler story times will begin Mondays during January 30 April 2 from 10:30-11 a.m.

Students in grades 1-6 are invited to join a four-week session in which attendees will explore the solar system. Miss Becky will again be blending facts about the solar system with hands-on activities and crafts to bring the subject to life.

United Artists Film Studio Is Founded (1919)

In 1919, four of the leading figures in Hollywood—Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, D.W. Griffith, and Douglas Fairbanks—decided to form their own film studio to better control their own work. Though initially successful, United Artists foundered as films became more expensive to produce. It was taken over in the 1950s and began to thrive again until the 80s, when it was bought by the studio MGM.
